One of my students, M. is legally blind. She has some sight, but it is very limited. However, she deals so well with, occasionally I forget she has this disability.
We were playing Jeopardy in class to review for our Romeo and Juliet test, the students were in pairs with a dry erase marker and a personal white board. M. yelled out, Miss Nelcielo, my marker doesn't work. So, I did what I would have done with any other student. Pick a marker off the board in the front and toss it to the student. The marker hit M. in the forehead and fell into her lap.
M. yells out (with a laugh thankfully), "Miss Nelcielo, you don't throw markers at blind people!!"
OOops. Guess I missed that day in college.
